Hope Unraveled Tour heads to Portland and San Francisco

(The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation)Rich Harwood will be on the West Coast the week
of Oct. 17. Here are some of the events
planned:
- On Monday, Rich will be speaking with
foundation leaders from the Portland area at
the Oregon Community Foundation.
Later in the day, he will be signing copies of
Hope Unraveled: The Peopleís Retreat and Our
Way Back at the annual conference of the International Association for
Public Participation (IAP2).
- On Tuesday, Rich will be speaking about his
book and signing copies at a public forum at Portland
State Universityís Smith Memorial Student
Union. Following the event, He will be meeting
with a small group of civic leaders at Portland
City Hall.
- On Wednesday, Rich is meeting with staff at
Pacific News Service in San
Francisco to discuss his book and the
implications for the news media. Later in the
day, Deborah Alvarez-Rodriguez, CEO of Goodwill
Industries in San Francisco, is hosting Rich
and a small group of community leaders for
lunch.
- On Thursday, the San
Francisco Education Fund is sponsoring a
breakfast for some of their supporters
featuring Rich on the topic of Hope Unraveled
and the need for more civic-minded
organizations to engage communities. He will
also be speaking with senior staff at the Peninsula Community Foundation
around the important role community foundations
can play in creating an alternate path for
politics and public life.
