An alternate path for 2006
Friday, December 16, 2005
(The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation)2005 brought a great many successes to The
Harwood Institute, but with so much work to be
done to create meaningful change across the
nation, we are already looking towards 2006
with a sense of possibility and hope. Some of
our planned 2006 activities include:
- On January 5th, Richard C. Harwood will be
addressing leaders from philanthropy, business,
and politics at the Association of Maryland
Nonprofits' Legislative Preview session.
- The Institute will be partnering with the
Annie E. Casey Foundation in Atlanta Georgia to
help create change.
- In April, Rich will be speaking with school
administrators from across the nation about how
to build social covenants between communities
and schools at the National Association of
School Boards' annual convention in Chicago.
- Our work to build the public capital of Las
Vegas will continue in partnership with the
Nevada Community Foundation, as they work to
develop community advised philanthropy
programs.
- The second wave of the Hope Unraveled
Book Tour will commence with events
scheduled across the country including the New
Hampshire Institute of Politics, American
Leadership Forum in Silicon Valley, the
Community Foundation for the Capital Region in
Albany, New York, as well as stops at the
University of Alabama and in Austin, Texas.
