The Spring 2006 Harwood Public Innovators Lab officially kicks off in Baltimore, Md.
Monday, May 22, 2006
(The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation)Last night, public innovators from across the
country gathered in Baltimore to begin a
journey where they will examine their own role,
and the role of their organizations, in
creating real, lasting change in communities.
We call this experience The Harwood Public
Innovators Lab.
As Rich Harwood pointed
out during the opening session, the Lab is not
a conference or even a traditional training.
It's about helping people examine how they
approach their work so that they can create and
accelerate change.
"We’re going to
talk a lot about frameworks and tools this
week," Rich said, "but I guarantee you what
we’re going to spend as much time talking
about are the sensibilities we bring to the
work, because I think that’s where the action
is. We can always get a new framework, but
it’s the sensibilities we bring to those
frameworks that actually drive how we use
them."
The Harwood Public Innovators Lab
will take place again Sept. 11-15, 2006 at the
Pier 5 Hotel in Baltmore. Check out our Lab Web page for more
information.
