Harwood Public Innovators Lab a phenomenal success

Tuesday, May 30, 2006

(The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation)Last week, The Harwood Institute convened the Spring 2006 Public Innovators Lab, made up of one of the most dynamic groups of public innovators from around the country we have ever assembled. These leaders posed some of the toughest questions we've encountered, challenging us and one another to think deeply about creating change in society.

Here are some of the things people had to say about their experience:

"The Innovators Lab is a rich experience whose benefits sort of blossom like a new rose. As people ask me about the experience I am able to be more concrete and more specific each additional time I give the answer, and it is always with an additional insight that was ignited by the experience of being in the same room with people who knew so much and who care so much about making positive change in their communities and in the community of change makers. Please share my appreciation with all at The Harwood Institute."

"How much more there was to the model than I knew previously."

"How much I truly enjoyed fellow participants. Though I often appreciate learning about/working with other participants at workshops and conferences, I grew to really like everyone here in different ways."

"There was 'groundedness' in the theory. The framework does 'fit' with me and my work more than I had anticipated."

"It (the experience) was personal; it was real. It is not mechanistic, but the application is in deep personal work."

"A great experience! Opened the doors and expanded my horizons; invigorated me for the work ahead!"
If you would like to participate in the upcoming Fall 2006 Harwood Public Innovators lab, set for Sept. 11-15 at the Pier 5 Hotel in Baltimore's historic Inner Harbor, you can register today at a special site we've set up through Regonline.com.
