seeks to hire a new director of communications
and networks. The position opening comes at an
exciting time in the evolution of the
organization; the Institute is pivoting from a
project-based organization focused on
innovating, to an organization that seeks to
diffuse its innovations and ideas to public
innovators across the nation. The individual
will be responsible for such areas
as:
• Helping to build and engage The
Harwood Institute’s nationwide network of
public innovators;
• Producing weekly
e-letters to the network;
• Marketing the
Harwood Public Innovator Labs and Annual Public
Innovators Summit;
• Developing innovative
ways to package Harwood Institute content for
public innovators and organizations seeking to
create change;
• Managing the production
of Web casts, podcasts, and video
material;
• Serving as a member of
high-performing teams on targeted innovation
initiatives in communities and with
nationally-networked organizations;
•
Engaging news media and other communications
channels on Harwood Institute ideas and
knowledge;
• Managing the expansion of
Harwood Institute website and online
platform.
Interested individuals must
have at least 5 years relevant experience and a
proven track record of accomplishment. They
must posses a desire to create innovation and
change in public life, and a belief that
individuals can tap their own potential to make
a difference and join together to forge a
common future. The individual must be a
self-starter and self-directed.
